There were some tough guys who played villain’s henchman and minor roles in old movies. They were known for their intimidating muscular bodies and look who would indulge in fight scenes with heroes. They were twice the size of their opponent heroes but were get beaten by them as per the movie  script. Some of the names if you remember are Ram Shetty, Bob Christo, Manik Irani aka Billa, Mahesh Anand, Gavin Packard and Mukesh Rishi etc. The last actor is still acting in movies.Here are their pictures .             Veeram ( Valour) is a 2016 Indian epic historical drama film written and directed by Jayaraj. It is an adaptation of William Shakespeare's play, Macbeth, and is the fifth installment in Jayaraj's Navarasa series.

The film, which also takes inspirations from the Vadakkan Pattukal (Northern Ballads) of North Malabar region in Kerala tells the story of Chandu Chekavar (Kunal Kapoor), an infamous warrior in the 13th century North Malabar.



Some facts about the Veeram

  • The film premiered at the BRICS  Film Festival on 2 September 2016 in New Delhi .
  • Veeram is simultaneously made in Malayalam, Hindi, and in English with the same title.
  • Veeram also had its screening at the India Panorama Category of 47th International Film Festival of India 2016 in Goa.
  • The big budget movie which was screened with a housefull audience.
  • The film will in fact be a trilingual film(English,Hindi & Malayalam), wherein there is no dubbing but one scene is shot three times.
  • Actor Kunal Kapoor  hit the gym  a lot  . In order to prepare for his warrior role  the 6'2  tall actor has gained 12 kg of muscles.  
  •  
  • The Rang De Basanti star posted pictures of his body transformation within 6 months  on Twitter .
  • Kunal Kapoor  took training in traditional martial art Kalaripayattu  for 4 months.

Veeram may not be a mammoth project like Baahubali but the movie trailers and Kapoor 's charisma  can draw the audience to  movie theatres .
