The unknown Khan of Bollywood who vanished into thin air
There were some tough guys who played villain’s henchman and
minor roles in old movies. They were known for their intimidating muscular bodies and look who would indulge in fight scenes with heroes. They were twice the
size of their opponent heroes but were get beaten by them as per the movie script.
Some of the names if you remember are Ram Shetty, Bob
Christo, Manik Irani aka Billa, Mahesh Anand, Gavin Packard
and Mukesh Rishi etc. The last actor is still acting in movies. Here are their pictures .

Audiences remember those baddies for
their physical fitness & sturdy torso . There was one actor who also played goons but the poor
fellow was left unrecognized and vanished into thin air.
Do you remember this guy from the 1990’s action movies?
Do you remember his name?
Do you even know his name?
If you don’t know it’s ok. It is because he generally played
the main antagonist’s henchman and some minor roles in movies.
His name was Hussain Khan.
He was an actor, stuntman and martial artist.
The best role in his career was in movie Jigar (1992) . In
Jigar he played a skilled martial artist who is almost invincible but he is
blinded and his back bone is broken by his evil opponent.
I hope you may remember now those fragment of images from
that ring fight scene in movie Jigar.
Apart from Jigar, Khan never got any major or supporting
role. Mostly his role was to beat the heroes and later get beaten by them.
Perhaps because of nepotism Hussain Khan didn’t get any
bigger platform to introduce himself.
Audiences may remember him in the 90’s but forgot him with the passage
of time.
Hussain Khan in Platform |
Hussain Khan began his career in the late 1970’s. He had a
minor role in horror movie Jaani Dushman(1972). He also did a few action and
horror movies in the 80’s. A few of them are Cheekh, Khooni Mahal and Shiva. Later
he appeared in some action movies of Ajay Devgan including Jigar & Platform
(1993) .
Khan with Ajit in Jigar |
You may be shocked to know this guy had six pack abs years
before Salman Khan introduced the trend in Veergati (1995). When Hussain Khan
had a toned body with six pack abs no one gave a s***. When superstar Salman
bhai displayed his abs he got everyone’s attention. No offense to Salman Khan.
Bruce Lee(L) & Hussain Khan (R) |
Perhaps Hussain Khan was a fan of martial art legend Bruce Lee hence his physique and fighting style were inspired from the latter. His leg split scene in Jigar is probably inspired by Jean-Claude Van Damme.
Khan in Keemat: They are back . |
Unfortunately, there is no information of Hussain Khan on
the internet .Only in IMDB his name appears with a blank photo & little filmography
. His last movie was Keemat: They are back (1998) in which he had a fight scene
with Akshay Kumar in the climax.
If he is still alive he might have retired from
Bollywood and may be not be in very good financial condition and if he is
deceased years earlier there might have
been very little or no information of his obituary in newspapers.
We can hope small actors and martial artist like Hussain Khan
can get some recognition in Bollywood.

ReplyDeleteNobody could do martial arts scenes in Bollywood better than him. Bollywood should hire him with a decent package to teach upcoming new Bollywood actors.
ReplyDeletehe was credited as Hussain khan but real name is Khosrow Khalegpanah , presently National level Karate Sensei(teacher) at Canada
ReplyDeleteThank you for the reply
DeleteYeah I was delighted to find out that he's teaching at few kilometers from where I lives now ;)
It's pretty hard to find Indian martial arts movies from the 80/90 like Jigar
I've been digging trougth Einthusan without much luck
Could you tell me what degree black belt is he?
Deleteyaadgar wilen
ReplyDeleteHe is better than all bollywood spineless fake actors😄😄. Again he should be called with honour in India to train fake martial arts actors like tiger Shroff etc.
